ADHD Diagnosis

Many adults are currently wondering whether ADHD might be the underlying cause of their inner restlessness, trouble concentrating, procrastination, emotional overwhelm, or recurring difficulties in daily life. In some cases, these patterns have been present since childhood and have long been masked by intense effort, adaptation, or compensatory strategies.
A thorough ADHD evaluation helps provide greater clarity. Is ADHD actually present? Do other psychological factors such as stress, depression, anxiety, exhaustion, or trauma play a role? Or are multiple factors intertwined?
The goal of the diagnostic process is to provide a diagnostic assessment and a better understanding of one’s own patterns. Many people experience significant relief simply through this clarification. Difficulties appear less like personal failures and become more understandable, treatable, and manageable.
An ADHD evaluation may be helpful in cases of:
difficulty concentrating and being easily distracted
inner restlessness, agitation, or difficulty winding down
procrastination, organizational problems, and difficulties with time management
emotional impulsivity or severe mood swings
recurring feelings of being overwhelmed at work, in school, or in daily life
a feeling of not reaching one’s full potential despite significant effort
suspected ADHD based on observations by a partner, family member, therapist, or doctor
a desire for diagnostic clarity before proceeding with further treatment
Typically, an ADHD evaluation includes:
a detailed diagnostic interview
standardized questionnaires and clinical assessment procedures
a review of developmental history, particularly from childhood and adolescence
the evaluation of possible differential diagnoses and comorbid conditions
clear feedback with a diagnostic assessment
recommendations for possible next steps
Depending on the situation, it may be helpful to include old school reports, previous medical findings, or additional information from the individual’s social environment. This will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
An ADHD diagnosis can provide guidance and lay the foundation for appropriate next steps. These may include psychoeducational counseling, psychotherapy, coaching, adjustments to daily life, or a specialist evaluation of medication options.
This service is intended for private patients, self-pay patients, and those with public health insurance who are eligible for reimbursement.
The entire diagnostic process takes place online. It’s secure, flexible, confidential, and eliminates the need to travel.
Gain clarity. Understand patterns. Develop new courses of action.
Private Health Insurance & Government Health Subsidy
In my private practice, I can bill all private health insurance providers. Please check with your private health insurance provider and, if applicable, your government health subsidy office to see if ADHD diagnostics are covered under your individual insurance policy. I will provide you with an invoice that you can submit to your health insurance provider for reimbursement.
Public Health Insurance
ADHD diagnosis can also be conducted as part of therapy. For this, a diagnosis must already be in place (e.g., depression). In that case, the diagnosis can be billed through the reimbursement process. Approval of cost coverage depends on the health insurance provider and involves some bureaucratic effort. I’m happy to assist you with the application.
I will provide you with all the necessary forms.
Self-Pay Patients
If you wish to cover the costs yourself, the ADHD assessment can begin immediately without any bureaucratic hurdles. Billing is based on the fee schedules for psychotherapists and physicians (GOP/GOÄ). Depending on the scope of the assessment, the cost of ADHD assessment ranges from €600 to €1,100.
Psychotherapeutic services such as ADHD assessment may be tax-deductible under “other health expenses” within the limits of a reasonable financial burden.
